To continue our series of online webinars and workshops, we will be hosting a talk on Coral Spawning and Larval Culturing. This is one of the more recent and cutting edge methods of reef restoration, which we believe holds the greatest promise for the future. This is the only coral restoration technique that can actually help corals adapt to climate change. By producing restoration feedstocks through spawning methods we can increase the genetic diversity of restored reefs, while also reducing generation times. Furthermore, through selective breeding matrices we can influence intraspecific hybridization, leading to more fit offspring populations.
This will be an approximately 1.5 hours talk, followed by questions and discussion
